My Ex
....*chuckles in problem*
Dear Reader,
Come in. Take a seat.
I have resolved to be more committed here than I was last year, and I hope to be in your mail as often as I can be.
“If I had known...”
The four starter words for anyone who has survived the gallows and its murky waters. I mean, regret always leaves a bitter taste.
If I were back in a Primary 3 English debate, I would argue with more conviction than ever: experience, my dear, is truly the best teacher.
Them no dey tell person, at all.
The man my Ex was (and is) can be summed up in many words, first: Unexpected. When he waltzed into my life, I wasn’t aware. When he barged into my heart, I didn’t see it coming. I was caught unawares and sucked into the worst season of my life.
But we are not here for that.
Another word for him? Persistent. He never shows up when I’m on my A-game. He waits for the “random check-in” when my defenses are down.
Asake doesn’t even know ball where this man is concerned; he’s active! He’ll even mimic the Good Shepherd, chasing you down like you’re the one, only to whisper that deceptive line: “You’ll always be the one.”
And like Eve, I look at the fruit and see that it is good. I stare until doubt fades and desire grows, until finally, I indulge.
Normally, everywhere go first blurrrr.
Then, the cycle begins: rinse and repeat. First, the daunting realization. Then the cold arrival of Guilt, the heavy weight of Shame, and Anger melting into Sorrow, until finally, I remember I have a Redeemer.
Friend, look, it’s a new year. Old habits you thought were dead and buried at the cross will try to stir. Exes will resurface, and severed friendships will try to bridge the gap. You must be discerning. Like Lot leaving Sodom, you have just one job: Don’t look back.
As body dey scratch you, you sef reason am, it’s not every itch you scratch. Child of God, stand up!
Stay the course, lean on the strength of the Lord, and stay close to the body of believers. Be honest about your struggles; let yourself be held up by prayer and wise counsel, okay?
Great!
Talk to you next week!

The most unhinged 'new year new me' post I've read here😂
Thank you for sharing. I know his character and I'll watch out going forward
😂😂😂😂
May never go back to what Jesus is saving us from.
And the church says…
